I am thinking about it. I feel like i am missing something and I won’t find it here. I want to travel, see America, the world. But i don’t know if ill make it. Its so hard to find a job how would i support myself. I have some saved up but I’m still doubtful. Is there anyone here that feels or felt the same? If you have gone on a journey did you grow from it? or was it just sight seeing. I need help

I ran away (from Life) thankfully i had friends i stayed with along the way. I learned alot about myself, had a great time but it was hard adjusting to being back in the real world when i returned
I wasn’t even 21, packed one bag with what I could, moved from FL to MA, and never looked back; with $200 in my pocket. The best thing I ever did for myself. Within 3 weeks, I was working the only job I could find at the time, outside as a valet, oh and it was November. But it paid the bills; paid the rent within 3 weeks; within 3 months I had an apartment (not living on the one friend I knew couch) and now nearly a decade later, I’m in a great spot in my life; if it weren’t for that one way ticket I would never have known what it was like on the outside. I could have gone back, but I’ve never wanted to. Good luck with whatever you do! Oh and it’s better if you know someone where you’re going, a friend someone who will let you crash at their place until you get on your feet, but you can’t procrastinate getting on your feet, you have to be strong and really live by the “Survival of the fittest” rule!
So yes I did grow and I believe anyone can, the economy is tough; but we make of it what we can. And I think that if I could do it, anyone can…as long as you know what you have to do to make it out there…

A buck in my pocket (no lie), no knowledge of English, and a hubby and toddler. I went from Europe to America because of a civil war. My husband was either to enroll into the army and stay or leave without ANYTHING with him. We left absolutely everything- family, home, friends, and so much more. Came to America and someone found an apartment for us with cockroaches everywhere in one of the worst parts of the country. Got 2 kids, a husband, a house, an okay-paying job out of it. I just went back last summer: my family was happy to see me but still believe that I left them purposely. I had to and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
My advice to you? WORK HARD AND NEVER GIVE UP. Even though you may feel you’ll never live in America, you will if you set your mind to it. At least you’ve saved up and know English! I’ve grown so much from it, I never regretted anything.

Me and you need to share a drink!! (LOL) I’m going through something similar to what ur saying in this paragraph. I can’t find work (I’ve been unemployed for a year), I’m debating on going into the military. I feel like that would be good for me to be away from my family, because I have never been out on my own before, and by staying here I’m not able to make anything happen for myself because of the circumstances I’m in from being in this area. You probably feel like you need to get away to find yourself. Speaking for myself, I feel that way. I say go for it. But I’m not sure what your situation is.
