The Royal Mail in their infinite wisdom closed our local Post Office in St.Johns Village, so now we have to use either the Post Office in Knaphill or the main Post Office in Woking which as you probably know is situated in the basement of W.H.Smiths. I am not that enamoured with the Knaphill one, there is always a queue and the outside looks like a penny bazaar.
Just before Christmas I had a few small parcels to send, all eBay stuff so I went into Woking, what a disaster, the queue stretched nearly up to the stairs and there were only four people serving. I watched one of the staff take up her position and by the time she had adjusted her bra and got her large body organised and the tidied her pen/pencils and put her drink in the correct position, five minutes had gone by. I left the queue as I didn’t really have all day to stand there. I was also looking for some stationery, but they didn’t have what I wanted so I went to Ryman’s who are always helpful, but on this occasion they didn’t have what I wanted. The salesperson suggested Mail Boxes Etc, so off I went. Mailbox did have the items I wanted but what I didn’t know was that they are agents for the Royal Mail as well as other mailing services.  No queue here so I mailed my items, same price as the Post Office.
